Momiji Health Care Society is a non-profit organization providing services to senior citizens of primarily Japanese-Canadian descent, in an effort to maximize their independence, health, and quality of life.

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Driver to join our team on a casual basis (10 hours per week guaranteed).

About the Role

We are currently seeking casual drivers to assist with transporting our senior residents to medical appointments and scheduled outings. The ideal candidates will hold a Class G driver's license. This position offers the opportunity for flexible, on-call work with a meaningful impact on our community's senior citizens.

Key Activities Include:

• Safely transport tenants to medical appointments and scheduled outings with care and compassion.


• Maintain a clean and comfortable vehicle, ensuring it is equipped with necessary safety features to provide a pleasant experience for residents.


• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, prioritizing the safety and comfort of passengers.


• Communicate effectively with residents and staff to ensure smooth scheduling and coordination of transportation needs.


• Embrace the opportunity to give back to the community by providing essential transportation services to seniors in need.

Skills & Abilities Required:

• Valid Class G driver's license


• Clean driver's abstract and a commitment to safe driving practice


• Cleared vulnerable sector check


• Open and honest and a great communicator when interacting with others


• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., at rush hour)


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and compassionate demeanour


• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules


• Availability during daytime hours, with flexibility to accommodate varying transportation needs

Good to Know:

• This position offers casual, on-call employment with a guarantee of 10 hours per week


• Schedules are provided one month in advance, with additional shifts added as needed


• Drivers will be selected based on availability and resident bookings
